In this chapter we look at perhaps the most important challenge of all—understanding and providing for student diversity. Consequently, among other things, you will learn how your students differ socioeconomically, culturally, in terms of gender, developmentally, in learning style, and in ability. Having such knowledge and understanding will enable you to accommodate, and even celebrate, your students’ differences.
