Activity 1: Common Spelling Errors

Directions: Do you have any words or word types that you consistently misspell? Check over your most recent corrected papers if need be. List the misspellings and consult a dictionary to get the correct spelling.

Activity 2: Does Spelling Matter?

Directions: Does bad spelling really matter? Should an instructor lower your grade because of it? What's the difference as long as he or she knows what you mean? Do you use a spell-checker when you use a word processor? What are the limitations of spell-checking programs?
