List of ChangesThe following changes have been made to the third edition of Mastering ArcGIS:- Updated to ArcGIS Version 9.2.
- Some fundamental changes to the geodatabase model have been made for 9.2 which require that the databases be upgraded to the new version. Hence the data and many of the tutorial steps will not work for previous versions ArcGIS. Users still using 9.0 or 9.1 should use the second edition of this text.
- More data outside South Dakota. As these changes require complete rewriting of the tutorials and videos this process will continue in future editions.
- Conversion of most of the shapefiles and coverages to provide students with more experience working with geodatabases right from the start. The importance of coverages is declining, and the text reflects that development as well.
- Chapter 8 has been rewritten to emphasize geoprocessing as a whole. In addition to ArcToolbox, it now offers a brief introduction to other geoprocessing methods including the command line and ModelBuilder.
