Russell J. Lundholm Russell J. Lundholm is the chairman of the Accounting Department at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business. He holds a PhD in Business Administration and a Masters of Science in Statistics from the University of Iowa. He has taught at the University of Michigan since 1993 and at Stanford University from 1987 to 1993. Professor Lundholm’s research interests lie at the intersection of accounting, finance, and economics, and his findings have been published in the Journal of Accounting Research, Accounting Review, Journal of Finance, Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Political Economy, and Econometrica. His research also has been the subject of articles in Business Week, Fortune, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal. He teaches graduate-level financial statement analysis, with a particular emphasis on stock valuation, and graduate-level financial economics. He speaks regularly at hedge funds and mutual funds on various topics concerning stock valuation and market inefficiency, and he serves as a consultant to numerous professionals in the investment industry. Richard G. Sloan iRichard G. Sloan is the Victor L. Bernard PricewaterhouseCoopers Collegiate Professor of Accounting, Professor of Finance, and Director of the Tozzi Electronic Finance Center at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business. He received his PhD at the University of Rochester and previously served on the faculty of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Professor Sloan’s research focuses on the role of accounting information in investment decisions. His research is widely published in journals including the Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Accounting Research, Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, and Review of Accounting Studies. His research is regularly featured by the business press and has received numerous awards, including the 2001 American Accounting Association Notable Contributions to the Accounting Literature Award and the 2003 Q-Group Roger F. Murray First Prize. Professor Sloan currently teaches financial statement analysis, security valuation and investment management in BBA, MAcc, MBA, PhD, and executive courses at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business. He is an editor of the Review of Accounting Studies, an associate editor of the Journal of Accounting and Economics, and a member of the editorial boards of the Accounting Review, Accounting and Finance, and Journal of Financial Economics.
