Feature boxes, now categorized into four types, reflect
the text's motif of the “world stage” drama of international
relations: they are "You Be the Playwright," "Global Actors," "In
the Spotlight," "and Play a Part." More than half of the boxes are
completely new to this edition.
The number of chapters has been reduced from 18 to 16,
for a better fit with most academic calendars. The three chapters
on "levels of analysis" have been combined into one chapter.
New scholarship presented includes expanded coverage of
postmodernist and constructivist theory.
