Instructor's Resources
Annotated Instructor's Edition (ISBN: 0072106097): This is the perfect course for an instructor's edition. Marginal notations in the AIE indicate where other elements of the package could be included in the lecture – like PowerPoint slides, transparencies, cases, and critical thinking questions – and also indicate when certain SCANS skills are addressed. The AIE also contains an instructor's walkthrough of the text and supplements features, as well as access to the online supplements guide (Jim McHugh and Jeffrey Jones discussing the supplements in depth).
Instructor's Supplements Orientation Video – Online: This online orientation guide is great for instructors new to using the text, or for adjuncts/full-timers not sure what all is available in this UB8e supplements package! Jim McHugh and Jeffrey Jones, another St. Louis CC professor who served 4 years as an adjunct, walk through every one of the supplements available with the text and discuss how they can be effective teaching tools, what's included in each, etc.
Instructor's Manual (ISBN: Vol. 1: 0073106110, Vol. 2: 0073106119): The 2 volume print Instructor's Manual is organized in the ground-breaking format others now duplicate. When the manual is opened flat, the lecture outline is on the left-side page, and the supplemental resources like the slides, critical thinking exercises, boxes from the text, etc are on the right-side page, suggesting where they can be included in your lecture. Great for adjuncts who are given this course with little prep time. The IM also includes video notes, thumbnails of all the slides for each chapter, supplemental cases, critical thinking exercises, answers to discussion questions in the text, and suggested course schedules.
Test Bank (ISBN: Vol. 1: 007310602X, Vol. 2: 0073106070): The print test bank includes over 4000 questions, reviewed for accuracy. The questions are organized by learning objective, and by the level of learning (definition, application, etc). Quick quizzes are included in each chapter. Test Tables are included for each chapter as well that organize every question in that chapter in a table so professors can see – at a glance – which questions test on which learning objective and which level of learning. And, it is indicated which questions test on boxed material, which are essay questions, m-c questions, true-false questions, and which questions test on cases in the book, etc.
IRCD (ISBN: 0073106127): The Instructor's Resource CD includes the IM, CTB, PPT slides, video notes, and digital asset library (all figures from the text).
Videos (DVD: 0073106143, VHS: 0073106003) Videos are included for each of the chapters in the text. Thirteen are in a revolutionary modular format , allowing professors to customize their own videos. (meaning, videos are broken up into shorter segments and can be organized however the professor wants, simply by ‘dragging and dropping.') Videos include a variety of companies and organizations – from small businesses to large corporations. ALL videos (DVD and VHS) are closed-captioned.
PowerPoint: The PowerPoint (available on the IRCD) includes over 400 slides now with detailed teaching notes. A basic presentation is also available for students on the OLC. CPS questions are included in PowerPoint as well. All PPT slides now have teaching notes .
Media Resource Guide (ISBN: 0073106038): The Media Resource Guide (a print supplement) includes detailed teachings notes for each of the videos that accompany the book.

Telecourse Instructor's Manual (ISBN: 0073106062): the Telecourse IM organizes the test bank questions for Understanding Business into the 26 video segments used in the It's Strictly Business telecourse offered by Dallas Telelearning. If a professor is using the Dallas telecourse and wants to use Nickels, this guide is the perfect conduit.
Business Plan Writer (ISBN: 0073281468): The Business PlanWriter includes over 250 sample business plans and 400 case students to give you a wide variety of examples as you create your own plan.
