    A master of the sitar, Ravi Shankar is easily the most well-known Indian musician, and his website contains his biography, a discussion of Indian music, a list of his disciples, and more, including a link to the website of his daughter, Anoushka Shankar, who has become a master sitar performer in her own right.

    Bollywood Music

    Aside from a busy ad-filled interface, this site offers a large variety of audio files of music from Indian movies, as well as some Indian classical and other music. Although some selections are available directly from the homepage, far more are available either under the Music category in the Channels column (which may also be accessed directly at http://bollywoodmusic.com/), or at one of the selections under Listen to Music. Similarly, some movie trailers may be accessed directly from the homepage, but many more are under the Trailers selection in the Channels column.     This is an excellent site that offers more in-depth information on Japanese traditional music and instruments. A nice selection of appropriate photographs and audio examples are included.

    Indonesian Gamelan Music
