Chapter 1 Excel Solutions Manual (2808.0K)

New to the 4th edition is a unique resource: Excel-file solutions have been prepared for ALL end-of-chapter exercises and problems in the text. Each solution consists of three parts:

1.   background information regarding the assignment
2.   input data
3.   a solution area.

As such, each solution is self-contained--there is no need to have access to the text in order to complete text assignments using Excel. In addition, a separate student version of the Excel solutions manual is available! This version contains an exact copy of the instructor's solution for each even-numbered exercise and problem in the text.

In both the student and the instructor version of the Excel SM solutions for each chapter are contained in a single file: once the file for a chapter is opened, users have immediate access to all solutions for the chapter.

Instructors can use this material in a variety of ways: to enhance the spreadsheet skills of the students; to provide a mechanism for conducting sensitivity analyses; and, for creating examination exercises and problems that parallel those contained in the text. Finally, note that because all students have the same input data with which to work, data-entry issues and problems are virtually eliminated.
