Carol Yacht is a textbook author and accounting educator. Carol contributes regularly to professional journals and is the author of Great Plains, Peachtree, QuickBooks, and Excel textbooks and Carol Yacht's General Ledger and Peachtree CD-ROMs (www.mhhe.com/yacht). In 1978, Carol started using accounting software in her classes at institutions including California State University, Los Angeles; West Los Angeles College; Yavapai College; and Beverly Hills High School. Carol Yacht is the 2005-2006 Chair of the American Accounting Association's Two-Year College section and recipient of its Lifetime Achievement Award. She has worked for IBM Corporation as an education instruction specialist, and served on the Computer Education Task Force for the National Business Education Association. Carol is a frequent speaker at state, regional, and national conventions. Carol earned her MA degree from California State University, Los Angeles; BS degree from the University of New Mexico, and AS degree from Temple University. Susan V. Crosson is Coordinator and Professor of Accounting at Santa Fe Community College in Gainesville, FL. She previously taught on the faculties of University of Florida, Washington University in St. Louis, University of Oklahoma, Johnson County Community College, and Kansas City Kansas Community College. Susan teaches financial and managerial accounting courses and speaks and writes on the effective use of technology in accounting courses. Susan is co-author of several accounting textbooks and the Computer Accounting Essentials series. Susan has received the Florida Association of Community Colleges Professor of the Year Award for Instructional Excellence and University of Oklahoma's Halliburton Education Award for Excellence. Susan received her Master of Science in Accounting from Texas Tech University and her undergraduate degree in accounting and economics from Southern Methodist University. She is a CPA and is 2005-2006 Chair of the Accounting Careers and Members in Education committee for the Florida Institute of CPAs and serves on AICPA's Pre-certification Education Executive Committee. Susan also serves as the American Accounting Association's Vice President of Sections and Regions. |
