1			Utilize the information from this chapter to define language. If you were to invent a new language, how would you go about it?
2			Discuss the merits of requiring a second language as part of an elementary education.
3			Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of living in the United States as a person whose first language is not English.
4			List the two primary types of reasoning. What obstacles does each type present?
5			Compare and contrast deductive, or top-down, reasoning; and inductive, or bottom-up, reasoning.
