Using the link above, do a Web Search to locate information about Bernini's life, works, and patronage. How did he influence the religious art of his time, and how is his work a departure from Renaissance style?

Artemesia Gentileschi was an accomplished and successful Baroque painter at a time when few women were professionally successful artists. Do an Image Search using the above link to locate more works by her. How do they compare to Judith and Maidservant with the Head of Holofernes (Fig. 17.5, p. 424)? Then use the Web Search function to find out more about her background and biography, and discuss how her life might inform her work as a painter.
