About the Author

Stephen R. Schach is an Associate Professor of Computer Science and Computer Engineering at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee. Steve's research interests are in the field of software engineering in general and in the empirical analysis of open-source software in particular; he has some 125 refereed publications to his name. Steve has written several best-selling textbooks on software engineering and object-oriented systems analysis and design. His books, which have been adopted by hundreds of universities all over the world, have been translated into a variety of languages, including Spanish, Chinese, Korean, and Dutch. Steve consults and teaches short courses internationally on software engineering.
