That's a Family

What makes a family? How is a family recognized, officially and with rituals? This video clip interviews several children of gay parents as they describe their families. In some ways, these families differ from traditional, heterosexual families, but in other ways the activities and attitudes these children display are common childhood behaviors.

Note how Dominique and her sisters were born into her mothers' relationship, while Breauna's father David met her other father Greg when Breauna was young. Both girls describe how classmates and society at large may respond to the homosexuality of their parents, and their comfort within their families.
