STD's: The Silent Epidemic

When educating teens -- one of the groups at highest risk for STIs -- about sexually transmitted infections, peer education groups are one effective method of making the connection. This video shows a team that has adults working in partnership with teens, describing STIs, how they are transmitted, and how to prevent their spread.

This group has found that role-play is a great tool for getting across both why STI prevention is important and what practical steps to take to avoid exposure. Note also how the teens extend the role-play to a few weeks after the initial scenario, and talk about partner notification.

Please watch the following video clip and answer the corresponding follow-up questions.
