Revision Changes

  • Culture and Diversity. The Santrock tradition of emphasizing culture and diversity continues in this edition. Sensitive coverage of culture and diversity appears in every chapter and is highlighted in Diversity in Life-Span Development interludes.
  • Expanded and updated coverage of adult development and aging. Particularly close attention has been given to revamping this often overlooked area in human development. Changes include updated material on obesity in emerging and early adulthood, new findings on stress in the workplace, and expanded coverage of menopause.
  • Streamlined content. The 12th edition has been thoroughly updated throughout with particular attention to increasing its ability to be used successfully in a single term. One prominent change that demonstrates this is the combining of the first two chapters from the previous edition into a single chapter in the 12th edition.
