Byron R. Hamilton received a BA in Education from the College of Advanced Education in Australia, and taught for several years in both private and public institutions. He earned an MA in Biblical Literature in Springfield, Mo., and is currently teaching EHR as part of the Continuing Education Department at Ozark Technical Community College in Springfield, Missouri.

In 1997, Byron and his wife, Leesa, established MedTech Medical Management Systems, a medical billing and consulting company for both practice management software and electronic medical records. For the following decade they were involved with medical billing, supervision of health-care information management, medical consultation, and training. Byron has been involved with electronic health record systems from the inception of the industry.

In 2004, he launched Med-Soft National Training Institute, (MNTI), a software training group conducting onsite and online training on medical software, including Medisoft™ PMS and SpringCharts™ EHR, both nationally and internationally. He has written the product training manuals for several PMS and EHR programs and has authored numerous articles for professional magazines. MNTI, also provides strategies for health-care organizations in the selection, implementation and project management of electronic health records.

Byron is a national speaker at career college workshops, business college associations, and medical professional groups.
