Key Technology:
Instructor's Manual: An important new feature of the Instructor's Manual (IM) continued with the 11th edition is the CB Press Highlights section. This provides a synopsis and suggestions for in-class discussion of three articles for each chapter that are NOT in the text.
Video Cases: Videos can be an excellent way to kick off a chapter or a major segment of discussion. The video cases provide expanded coverage of key topics and are available in DVD format.
Test Bank: The test bank was redone from scratch in the 10th edition, and the authors continue to update and improve on the test bank for the 11th edition. Over 2000 questions ranging from multiple-choice, to true-false, to short-answer and coded according to degree of difficulty and are designed with the flexibility to suit students' needs and teaching styles.
DDB Life Style StudyTM data: Data from DDB Worldwide's 2004 lifestyle study have been included in a disk that accompanies the text. This data is new starting with the 10th edition and includes new and exciting variables relating to culture, ideal self, decision making, and internet shopping.
Instructor's Supplements:
Instructor resources for the 11th edition have been upgraded substantially to aid in the teaching and learning experience.
The 11th edition puts the following resources at your fingertips:
PowerPoint Presentations: The PowerPoints for the 11th edition have been updated using the same high standards in maintaining quality and accuracy as the last edition. Also, the PowerPoints for this edition include a 1-3 minute video clip per chapter to enhance the students' in-class experience.
Each PowerPoint comes with the following value-added resources not found in the text:
Consumer Behavior in the News: Each chapter PowerPoint opens with an example that is not in the text that takes a general question-answer format. The example relates to one or more key concepts in the chapter and can be used to kick off discussion.
Applications in Consumer Behavior: Each chapter PowerPoint also contains one or two advertisements or in-store displays which are not in the text. Here again, these illustrations offer a customized in-class experience that goes beyond the text.
Video Application: Each chapter PowerPoint includes a 1-3 minute video clip demonstrating a consumer behavior concept to complement the text.
Supplemental Digital Ad Set: Your Instructor's Resource CD (IRCD) contains 95 additional ads and in-store visuals in digital form that you can import into your PPT slides. These ads are NOT in the text and thus allow for additional discussion beyond the book. The Instructor's Manual includes a guide to using these digital acetates in terms of which chapters and concepts they can be used to demonstrate.
CB Press Highlights: In-Class Discussion Articles (57 Articles NOT in Text): To help instructors bring FRESH and NEW examples not in the text into class discussions, the IM also includes CB Press Highlights. Each chapter generally comes with 3 such examples which have been chosen to be (a) timely and yet not too time sensitive, and (b) relevant and applicable to one or more concepts in the chapter. These articles are generally from the period 2004 to 2008.
Video Cases: Videos can be an excellent way to kick off a chapter or a major segment of discussion. We have 15 videos for the 11th edition. Across the 10th and 11th editions, the author team has replaced virtually all the video selections to provide a more updated and targeted coverage of a broader set of chapters and concepts.
The IM summarizes each video, provides guidance as to the relevant chapters for which it can be used, and provides questions that can be used to guide in-class discussion.
In-Text Case Solutions: The IM provides solutions to the part-ending cases in the text for each of use by instructor in class discussions and grading.
DDB Life Style StudyTM Data Analyses: The DDB data provides exciting and interesting variables that allow students to get a hands-on feel for analyzing consumer data relevant to various aspects of the class. The IM provides an overview of the DDB data and data tables and how to use them and answers to the DDB questions posed in the "end-of-chapter" section of each relevant chapter.
Chapter Summaries and End-of-Chapter Material: This aspect of the IM is an important instructional asset. Each Chapter Summary provides (a) learning objectives, (b) chapter-end summary from text, (c) lecture tips and aids (including useful handouts, ideas for activities, and so on), (d) CB Press Highlights, and (e) answers to the end-of-chapter Internet, DDB, review, and discussion questions.
