Activity 6.6: Student Empowerment Scale

The source of this scale is: Adapted from G. M. Spreitzer, "Psychological empowerment in the workplace: Dimensions, measurement, and validation," Academy of Management Journal, 38 (1995), pp. 1442-1465.

Empowerment is a psychological concept represented by feelings of self-determination, meaning, competence, and impact. The empowerment concept applies to people a variety of situations not just the workplace. The self-assessment you are about to complete is specifically adapted to your position as a student at this college or university.
Read each statement in this instrument and select the response that best indicates the degree to which you personally agree or disagree with that statement. You need to complete each item honestly to get the best estimate of your level of empowerment.
