Chapter 10 - Creating a Public Informative Message

This activity goes hand in hand with the discussion in Chapter 10 of creating an informative speech. In fact, the informative speech you create for your public speaking class can be adapted for different audiences. Consider which audience would be most effective to deliver your speech to. Perhaps it's a campus organization, such as the student government, or faculty senate. Maybe your city or town council might benefit from the information you have to share. Think about how the information you have to share might affect or challenge the status quo at the various levels of government. Where would this information be best suited. Remember, this speech is primarily informative; you're trying to educate people, not necessarily persuade them to take action on a particular topic. Use some of the links below to help determine where you might direct your message.
