 Jean Jurek (31.0K)Jean JurekJEAN JUREK, MS, RHIA, CPCJean has over 25 years of experience in medical coding and the health
information profession. She is an Associate Professor in the Health Information
Technology Program at Erie Community College. Her primary responsibilities
include teaching all medical coding courses, billing courses, on-line course
development, and instruction in quality management, computer applications
and health care statistics. As a consultant, she also is able to continue with
“hands on” experience in medical coding and auditing. Her work consists
of medical coding for a variety of health care providers, conducting medical
coding audits and education for health care providers in documentation and
coding issues. Jean has served as president of the Health Information Management
Association of Western New York (HIMAWNY), and received their
Distinguished Member Award in 2005. Recently, Jean has served as Education
Director and Finance Director for the New York Health Information
Management Association (NYHIMA). Currently Jean is the NY Community
Education Coordinator for the Personal Health Record (PHR) campaign
sponsored by AHIMA. She is also a participating member of the American
Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), the American
Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC), and UNYPHIED (Upstate New
York Professional Healthcare Information and Education Demonstration
Project). Her Master’s Degree was awarded from the State University of New at
Buffalo, Department of Social and Preventive Medicine in 2000.  Stacey Mosay (26.0K)Stacey MosaySTACEY MOSAY, RHIA, CCS-P,
CPC-H, CMRSStacey has over 15 years experience in health information management,
including working as director of medical records for a multihospital health
system and in coding, quality improvement, business office management,
medical staff credentialing, regulatory compliance, reimbursement analysis,
and physician office consulting. She served five years as the Medical Record
Coder Program Coordinator for the academic Coding Certificate program in
the Division of Allied Health at Trident Technical College. She is a graduate
of the Medical University of South Carolina with a B.S. in Health Information
Management. She served as chairman of the CCA test construction committee
for AHIMA from 2006-2007. She is a registered member of the American
Health Information Management Association and the American Academy of
Professional Coders. She is a member of the Low Country Coders Association,
the Palmetto Coder Association, AHIMA’s Assembly of Education, American
Medical Billing Association, Healthcare Billing and Management Association,
and a participant in Low Country Coding Roundtables.  Daphne Neris (25.0K)Daphne NerisDAPHNE NERIS, CPC, CCS-PDaphne has been in the healthcare field since 1984. She currently has her own
consulting business and is an approved American Academy of Professional
Coders (AAPC) Instructor. Previously, she was the Compliance Auditor for
the Department of Internal Medicine at Yale University’s School of Medicine,
and the Manager of Clinical and Reimbursement Services at the School of
Medicine. Her first years in healthcare were as the Clinic Manager for a large
surgical group in Connecticut. She is one of the founders of the Connecticut
Chapter of AAPC and is a past President. She has been an AAPC member
since 1995, and a CPC since 1996. Daphne has spoken nationally at the AAPC
National Conferences in Minnesota and Washington DC, and previously at
the National Physician’s Coding Summit in Las Vegas. She is a member of
the Connecticut Medical Group Management Association (CMGMA) and
the Connecticut Women in Healthcare Management Association (CWHCM),
serving on their Career Development Committee. Daphne also has a Bachelor
of Science degree from the University of New Haven and majored in Financial

seventeen years. Her publishing career began with McGraw-Hill in New
York, where she was employed for 15 years, first as a copyeditor trainee, last
as Executive Editor, Business & Marketing/Office Technology Group, Gregg
Division. Before founding Chestnut Hill Enterprises in 1990, Cynthia was vice
president for product marketing at Dialogue Systems, Inc., in New York. She
is certified as a professional coder by the American Academy of Professional
Coders, and is a graduate of Hood College. |
