    • What collectively consumed goods are protected by the administration's policies and priorities (and how)?
    • Which externalities in production are addressed by current policies and priorities in the administration (and how)?
  2. Go to http://www.epa.gov/docs/airmarkets. This is the web site for the Environmental Protection Agencies' emissions trading program. Look in "trading overview/market trends."
    • What are emissions allowances (who gets them, where do they get them, who uses them and what are they used for)?
    • What options do firms have besides using emissions allowances?
    • What has happened to emissions allowance prices over the past 6-12 months?
    • Use the supply and demand model to show what could have happened (to supply or demand) in an emissions allowance market to cause the price change.
  3. Go to http://www.epa.gov/. This is the web site for the Environmental Protection Agency.
    • Search the EPA, by zip code, for your zip code/county. Look at the EPS profile of your county. How does the EPS rate environmental quality in your county in each of the 5 areas (air, drinking water, surface water, hazardous waste, toxic chemical releases)?
    • Based on the EPA profile, to what extent and where(if anywhere) and do you think resources are needed for environmental improvement in your area?
