 Kathryn A. Booth RN, BSN, MS, RMA is a full-time author, educator, and consultant for Total Care Programming, Inc., a multimedia software development company. Her background includes a bachelor’s degree is in nursing and a master’s degree in education. Her 27 years of teaching, nursing, and health care work experience spans four states. She has authored and developed multimedia software and health care textbooks and educational materials for McGraw Hill Higher Education, Total Care Programming, Inc., Glencoe/McGraw-Hill, Mosby Lifeline, and Lippincott, Williams, and Wilkins. Mrs. Booth has presented at numerous state, corporate, and national conventions since 1994. Her current focus is to develop up-to-date, dynamic health care educational materials to assist educators and promote the health care profession. To remain current, Kathy has most recently been a part-time LPN instructor, practicing medical assistant, and completed her RMA certification.

Patricia DeiTos, RN, MSN, PWD is a full time educator for Inova Health System, a large non-profit six (6) hospitals system. Her background includes a bachelor’s degree in nursing for Rush University and a master’s degree in nursing administration for DePaul University. Her experience includes over twenty-seven (27) years of diversified professional nursing, nursing education and nursing management experience with specific focus on training, educational development; supervision, evaluation and analysis of nursing staff and students. She has held positions in the following areas: first line and middle level management, critical care units, hospital, college, and private sector based education. Patti has presented at numerous state, local and national conventions since 1995. Her current focus is on providing quality and appropriate education to the entry level and beginning health care professional.

 

Thomas E. O'Brien , MBA, BBA, AS, CCT, MSgt USAF ret. is a full-time educator, and Program Coordinator of Cardiovascular Technology at Central Florida Institute. He is also a subject matter consultant and test-writer working with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) for the Certified Cardiographic Technician Registry Examination. His background includes over 24 years in the United States Air Force and United States Army Medical Corps. Mr. O’Brien’s medical career as an Air Force Independent Duty Medical Technician (IDMT) has taken him all over the United States and the world. Tom has several years experience working in Emergency Services and Critical Care arena. He was awarded “Master Instructor” status by the United States Air Force in 1994 upon completion of his teaching practicum. He now has over 10 years of teaching experience; subjects include Emergency Medicine, Cardiovascular Nursing, Fundamentals of Nursing, Dysrhythmia and 12-Lead ECG Interpretation. Mr. O’Brien is actively involved in book proposals, and he reviews for a number of publishers, including Glencoe/McGraw-Hill, and Lippincott, Williams, and Wilkins. His current position provides challenges with the day-to-day development of curriculum to meet the ever-changing needs of the medical community, and to provide first-rate education to a diverse adult education population.

owner and operator of MDEC, a Medical/Dental & Educational Consulting Company located in Atlanta, Georgia, which focuses on providing quality training for schools, physician and dental offices to include hospitals and other entities that need assistance with raising the bar in their organizations and institutions. His background includes a bachelor’s degree in health care management. He is aggressively pursuing a master’s degree. He has been in the educationhealth care industry for more than twenty years, serving in such positions as Director of Education, Interim School Director, Medical Program Chair/ Director, Externship Director, Allied Health Instructor, Basic Sciences to include Anatomy and Physiology Instructor, Phlebotomy Instructor, Medical Billing and Coding Instructor, Clinical Medical Instructor, EKG Instructor, Medical Office Operations Manager, Clinic Manager, Medical Office Manager, just to name a few. He currently holds the following credentials Certified Phlebotomy Technician, Certified Allied Health Instructor, Certified Insurance and Coding Specialist, Medical Services Specialist, Financial Services Specialist, National Certified Medical Assistant, Certified EKG Specialist. He has also written medical based programs for some local proprietary schools and two-year colleges in the Atlanta, Georgia area. He is originally from Texas, but has lived in Georgia for almost twenty years.

 Debbie Fitzgerald, RN, BSN, MS, ABD,

Mrs. Fitzgerald is currently completing her dissertation for the doctor of philosophy degree in organizational leadership with a cognate in education. She has served as coauthor, contributing author, and consultant.
