To explore current franchising opportunities and to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of a selected franchise.

Go to Franchise Expo (www.franchiseexpo.com).

1. Take the self-test to see if franchising is a good personal choice for you. Find the test by clicking on Resources, then on Introduction to Franchising. Then, under Franchising Basics, click on Franchising—An Interactive Self-Test.

2. Go back to the home page and use the search tool to find a franchise that has the potential of fulfilling your entrepreneurial dreams. Navigate to the profile of the franchise you selected. Explore the franchise's Web site if a link is available. Refer to the questions listed in Figure 5.8 on page 134 in this chapter and assess the strengths and weaknesses of your selected franchise. (Hint: The Web site also contains tips for evaluating a franchise listing.)

3. Did your search give you enough information to answer most of the questions in Figure 5.8? If not, what other information do you need, and where can you obtain it?
