Detail the reasons why employee relations is an important policy goal for organizations.
Knowledge of the employee relations role to both the employee and organization in terms of having an impact on change and action within the organization.

Understand the relationship between employee relations and job satisfaction, organizational change and customer service.
Knowledge of the two-way communication process between management and various employee groups through employee relations and the positive and negative impacts on issues such as job satisfaction, organizational change and customer service.

Outline the role of employee relations to different types of employee publics.
Knowledge of unions, collective bargaining and employee benefits and the role of employee relations departments in communicating information to different types of employees and employee groups.

Describe the role of internal media within an organization.
Knowledge of the reasons why organizations should start internal media for communicating information related to company events and news, employee recognition and safety to employees.

Detail the different types of internal media and list the characteristics of available print and electronic media platforms.
Knowledge of the various media platforms such as brochures, flyers, bulletin boards, newsletters, message displays, home pages and other types of internal media for distributing information to employees.
