Task 4. Study and Re-Create. The diagram on page 378 of the text represents the ways in which an essayist can formulate the persuasive structure of the essay based on the characteristics of the other genres. Then close your text and complete the diagram from memory on the following page.

Individually or with your study group, brainstorm in Spanish about the language (for example, verb tenses, word choices, etc.) that the essayist might use to accomplish the purpose of each type of essay. Document the results of your brainstorm on a graphic organizer such as a word wheel (see Appendix section).
