Today's Diverse Theater

Like our society, today's theater is diverse and multicultural. Whether discussing the artists involved in the production of a play, or the influences on content and style of a play, many cross-cultural influences are evident. In addition, theaters are often created to appeal to specific groups within our diverse society: African-Americans, Latino/as, Asian-American, gays and lesbians, as well as many other groups. While many people attend traditional theatrical productions, there are also experimental, avant-garde, and political offerings as well.
