  1. Using a search engine, locate the home page of the federal Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs. Click the link for OWCP Press Releases, and read some of the latest information. Click the link for Information About OWCP to read more about the Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs.


  2. Search for the workers’ compensation website for your state. If you prefer, you may try entering the URL for your state: http://www.state.oh.us where "oh" is the two-letter abbreviation for your state (in this example, Ohio), and then locate workers’ compensation information from there. What are your state’s requirements for workers’ compensation coverage? Try to locate a sample claim form for your state.


  3. Research the Social Security Administration’s online publications that are located at http://www.ssa.gov/pubs. Read the material in Part 1—General Information of an electronic booklet entitled "If You Are Blind or Have Low Vision—How We Can Help" under the heading Disability Benefits to learn about the differences between SSDI and SSI.
