Installing QuickBooks Software
Note: If you are using a network in a computer classroom, install the QuickBooks
software to the local hard drives.
To install QuickBooks software:
Insert the QuickBooks CD-ROM in the computer’s CD drive.
If the installation program starts automatically, a CD Install window
appears. Click Install QuickBooks, then follow the onscreen
instructions.
If the installation program does not start automatically, complete the
following steps to install QuickBooks:
Click Start on the Windows ® taskbar.
Select Control Panel.
Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
Click Install.
Follow the onscreen instructions to install QuickBooks software.
To install the QuickBooks trial version software accompanying Computer Accounting with QuickBooks 2010:
1. Insert the QuickBooks Pro software CD into the CD drive.
2. When the QuickBooks Installation Wizard appears, following the onscreen instructions to install the software.
3. If you already have another version of QuickBooks software running on your computer, you can select to replace it with the newer version or to install both versions.
4. When requested, enter the License and Product number on the back of the envelope containing the QuickBooks software CD.
5. You will need to register the trial version and you will be able to use the software for 140 days after it is registered. Therefore, you may want to wait to install the software until you need to use it for your QuickBooks course.
