J. Ashok Robin, a native of India, was brought up in Coimbatore, a mid-size industrial city in the southern state of Tamilnadu. He did his undergraduate work at the Government Arts College in that city. Later, he moved to the United States, completing his MBA and Ph.D at SUNY-Buffalo. Currently, he is Professor of Finance at the Rochester Institute of Technology, and he was recently named as the Madelon & Richard Rosett Chair for Research. He lives in Rochester, New York. When he is not writing or teaching, he enjoys traveling—visits to Italy and India are especially cherished. He has published articles on a variety of topics in accounting and finance in journals such as the Journal of Accounting and Economics, Financial Management, Review of Accounting Studies, and Journal of Financial Research. Having taught international finance courses to graduate as well as undergraduate students for more than 15 years, he decided to use his experience to write this book, which is his first. |
