"Learning Goals" are presented as objectives for students to accomplish by the end of the chapter. They are stated at the beginning of each chapter, in tandem with a chapter outline/map of key headings, to help focus students' attention on the key ideas of lifespan development; then they are revisited in the "Review and Reflect" summary that concludes each section of a chapter; and finally they are summarized in the "Reach Your Learning Goals" end-of-chapter visual display.
"Careers in Life-Span Development" boxes feature interviews with professionals who use concepts from life-span development in their careers; an appendix offers additional career information.
Expert consultants have reviewed relevant chapters in detail, adding their recommendations and insights to provide the most current information available about life-span development. The text's expert reviewer panel, a "who's who" in the field of life-span development, is listed in the preface of the text.
