1. When you search for material on the Internet, a good starting point in some cases is a subject directory. (If you are new to the Internet, see Chapter 6 for tips.) Using a subject directory, find and print Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address.

Possible Strategy: Go to Yahoo Directory (dir.yahoo.com) and click on the category "Arts & Humanities." You will see many subcategories. Click on "Humanities," then select "History," followed by "U.S. History," and "Archives." Investigate several of the Web sites listed (such as Douglass—Archives of American Public Address) until you find the Gettysburg Address.

2. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced Internet researcher, you can profit from tutorials offered online. Examine at least one tutorial that has tips you can use, and print a copy for future reference.
