Internet Exercises

1. http://www.themms.com/

The MMS Institute or The Motivation Management Services Institute provides a site for various management development workshops and seminars. Its mission is to support individuals and organizations in making their visions, dreams, and goals become a reality.

Explore the site. The home page offers a stress quiz. Take the quiz to determine whether and to what extent you are stressed. It is a very simple test requiring yes/no answers to 20 questions. Respond candidly and see where you stand. What other questions/issues would you consider to be very stressful in your life currently that you should address? Develop a list of must act items to reduce stress in your home/work life.

2. http://www.startupfailures.com/aboutus.htm

Startupfailures is one of the first and few Websites that has a focus on the support of individuals that have recently gone through a startup failure. Its purpose is to remove the stigma out of failing and aims to help you recover quickly from a failed attempt.

After reviewing this Website, identify your viewpoints on how this site could benefit those individuals suffering from a startup failure. How do you perceive this as a means of assistance for displaced individuals? What aspects of career management do you see this site assisting with? Individuals failing at startups may face what type of conflicts? Do you believe this site and its resources provide assistance to reduce/manage stress and conflict? How? Prepare a short response to each the above questions to share with the class.
