S.Salivahanan is Professor and Head of Electronics and Communi-cation Engineering Department, Mepco Schlenk Engineering College, Sivakasi. He obtained his B.E. in ECE from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore and M.E. in Communication Systems from REC, Trichy. He has more than two decades of teaching, research and industrial experience both in India and abroad. He is serving as a mentor for the M S Degree under the distance learning programme offered by Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. He has worked as Scientist/Engineer at Space Applications Centre, ISRO, Ahmedabad, and Telecommunications Engineer at State Organisation of Electricity, Iraq and Electronics Engineer at Electric Dar Establishment, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. His areas of interest are microwaves, low and high frequency EM fields, digital signal processing and biomedical instrumentation. He has authored the books titled Basic Electrical, Electronics and Computer Engineering, second edition, and Electronic Devices and Circuits, both published by TMH, New Delhi.

Professor Salivahanan is the recipient of IEEE Outstanding Branch Counsellor and Advisor Award in the Asia-Pacific region for 1996-97. He is a Senior Member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc. (USA), Fellow of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers and a life member of Indian Society for Technical Education.

A. Vallavaraj is Senior Lecturer in the Department of Electronics Engineering, Caledonian College of Engineering, Sultanate of Oman. He has worked as Assistant Professor of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Mepco Schlenk Engineering College, Sivakasi. He obtained his B.E. in ECE from Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai and M.E. in Microwave and Optical Engineering from AC College of Engineering and Technology, both affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University. He has more than a decade of teaching and research experience. His areas of interest include optical communication, microwaves and digital signal processing. He is the co-author of the book titled Electronic Devices and Circuits published by TMH, New Delhi.

C. Gnanapriya is Senior System Analyst in INFOSYS Technologies Limited, Bangalore. Presently she is working for the Wireless Domain Consultancy group looking into the latest wireless technologies. She was earlier involved in the tools development for GSM networks. She worked as a Lecturer in Electronics and Communication Engineering at Mepco Schlenk Engineering College, Sivakasi during 1993-1997. She obtained her B.E. degree in ECE from Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai, M.E. in Communication Systems from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore and M.B.A. from Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai. Her areas of interest include Mobile Communications and Digital Signal Processing.
