Original American Authors


Each member of the original American Human Resource Management author team has extensive experience both in the teaching and in the practice of human resources, and their expertise has earned them the respect and acclaim of their peers. Collectively the authors have published scores of articles, books, and served on the editorial boards of leading publications, including the Academy of Management Journal, the Journal of Applied Psychology, the Journal of Management, Personnel Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes.

RAYMOND A. NOE is the Robert and Anne Hoyt Professor of Management at The Ohio State University. He is a Fellow of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and winner of the 2000 American Society for Training and Development Research Award.

JOHN R. HOLLENBECK is Eli Broad Professor of Management at the Eli Broad Graduate School of Business Administration at Michigan State University, and was the first winner of the Ernest J. McCormick Award for Distinguished Early Career Contributions to the field of industrial and organizational psychology.

BARRY GERHART holds the John and Barbara Keller Distinguished Chair in Business at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and has worked for organizations including TRW, Corning, and Bausch and Lomb.

PATRICK M. WRIGHT, Professor and Director of the Center for Advanced Human Resource Studies at Cornell University, and has consulted for such companies as Whirlpool, Amoco, and the government of the state of North Carolina.
