Acknowledgments

Just as teams are crucial to effective management in business, so too have they been essential to the creation of the fourth edition of this text. We are extremely proud to acknowledge the contributions made by our diverse author team, case contributors and reviewers of this new edition.

Content contributors to the fourth edition
We would like to extend our thanks to Colin Innes (University of Technology, Sydney) for his work on writing our chapter on human resource management. Elizabeth Hall (University of Otago) has patiently read through the new edition and added relevant New Zealand content wherever appropriate. Matene Love (Victoria University of Wellington) has further enriched the relevance of this edition to New Zealand by adding pertinent material on Maori issues in business.

We gratefully acknowledge Julian Teicher and Jo-anne Tui McKeown (Monash University) for their exceptional work on the critical thinking questions. The depth of their research has given this book an additional dimension, and one that further challenges students to think critically and intelligently about management in a real world context.

For their time and interest in this book we are grateful to Christine Connor, our freelance editor, the first thing we asked for when we were told that yet another edition was to be written—thank you for putting up with us for this long; to Jennifer Thompson, our administrative officer at RMIT for her endless support at times when we ready to scream and run away; the friends and colleagues who stopped asking us how the book was going; and finally Kerry Franklin, our IT person who kept us sane when we wanted to throw the computer out the window.

Finally, there are a number of people at McGraw-Hill without whom completion of this fourth edition would not have been possible. Our special thanks go to Ailsa Brackley du Bois and Melina Deliyannis for their on-going dedication. The McGraw-Hill production team also deserves our sincere thanks: Jo Munnelly, Amber Cameron, Graham Watson, Colette Hoeben, Jane Brimacombe and Rachel Jelley.
