Pascale Quester, D.E.S.C.A.F., M.A. (Marketing), PhD
Pascale is Professor in Marketing at the School of Commerce, The University of Adelaide. She has recently been appointed the Executive Dean of the faculty of the Professions for a period of 5 years. Pascale previously held appointments at the Graduate School of Management, The University of Adelaide, and at the Marketing Department, Massey University (New Zealand).
Pascale has co-authored three leading textbooks (two in Australasia and one in France). An active researcher, she has also published widely in academic journals, research books and conference proceedings. Her research interests include sponsorship, country-of-origin effects, relationship marketing and the effects of social interactions on consumer behaviour.
Pascale is also regularly sought as an expert witness in both state and federal courts in matters relating to consumer behaviour and marketing generally. Pascale is also the director of a research centre, The Franco–Australian Centre for International Research in Marketing (FAClREM), which supports, supervises and publishes work bridging research between France and Australia. She is also a research fellow of PRISM, a multidisciplinary research centre based at Paris 1 Sorbonne where she is a regular visitor, including one year as visiting professor in 2006/2007.
Cathy Neal, B. Business (Comm), Grad Dip. Marketing, Grad Dip. Education (Tertiary), MBA;
Cathy has been a Lecturer in the School of Advertising, Marketing and Public Relations at Queensland University of Technology, where she lectured in consumer behaviour at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
As well as being co-author of Consumer Behaviour: Implications for Marketing Strategy 4th enhanced edition, Cathy is the author of an interactive CD-ROM simulation in consumer behaviour, which is used widely in Australia and overseas.
Cathy has undertaken a range of consultancy work for both private and public sector organisations over the years, specialising in service industries. She has recently left academia to pursue her long-term interest in consumer behaviour and is currently conducting consumer behaviour research in the property market in south-east Queensland. Simone Pettigrew, B. Economics, M. Commerce, PhD Simone Pettigrew is a Senior Lecturer in Marketing at the University of Western Australia in the UWA Business School. She is the founding and ongoing Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Research for Consumers and she is a strong advocate of consumer education. Her research specialises in the area of vulnerable consumers and the alternative methods of improving their consumption-related outcomes.
Simone publishes widely in a range of marketing, consumer behaviour and health promotion academic journals and conference proceedings. She also consults regularly to a range of commercial and public organisations. Prior to entering academic life, Simone worked in marketing roles in the Australian energy sector for almost a decade.
Martin Grimmer, BSc (Hons), MPsychOrg, PhD
Martin is the Head of the School of Management at the University of Tasmania, where he has worked for 11 years. His background is as an organisational psychologist. He has an undergraduate degree with Honours in Psychology as well as a Master of Organisational Psychology degree, both from the University of Queensland. His PhD is from the University of Tasmania. Martin began his academic career in 1987 in Queensland and has taught at the University of Queensland and Griffi th University in Brisbane. Martin has taught in a range of subject areas, from consumer behaviour, services marketing and marketing research to organisational behaviour and human resource management.
Martin’s research interests and activities cover a range of areas, united by his background in psychology and his fascination with examining the motivations and underlying meanings of human behaviour. He conducts research into consumer behaviour, specifi cally the relationship between possessions and identity, and the effects of age on consumers’ decision-making processes. He has also maintained an interest in research methodologies, and is currently engaged in examining trends in the use of qualitative methods.
Teresa Davis, B.Commerce, MBA, PhD
Teresa is the Chair of the Discipline of Marketing, Faculty of Economics and Business, at The University of Sydney. Her main research interests lie in two areas. The fi rst is in children as consumers, particularly the relationship between advertising and marketing of food and the rising levels of obesity in children. The second is culture and consumption. Related areas of research include the socio-historical analyses of culture and consumption. She has published articles in several academic journals, has authored research book chapters and is on the editorial board of the Journal of Consumer Behaviour (Wiley Interscience) and Young Consumers (Emerald Publications).
Del I. Hawkins, BBA, MBA, PhD
Del is Professor Emeritus of Marketing. He has served as Director of the MBA Program, Director of the Lundquist Center for Entrepreneurship, Director of the Oregon Executive MBA Program, Director of the Museum of Art, Chair of the Marketing Department and Associate and Acting Dean of the Lundquist College of Business at the University of Oregon. He has also taught at Southern Illinois University, Xiantan University (PRC), the Netherlands School of Business, in Boston University’s Overseas Program, Xiamen University (PRC), and the Institute for International Studies and Training in Japan. Del has written a number of business cases and numerous journal articles as well as three widely used college textbooks.
