Mike Majors
Assistant Professor of Psychology

Mike Majors is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Delgado Community College in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he has been a full-time instructor since August of 2003. He currently teaches both traditional face-to-face classes and online classes in General Psychology. Mr. Majors developed the college's first online course in General Psychology in the months immediately following Hurricane Katrina to serve Delgado's displaced students and has continued to teach the course online every semester. At Delgado Community College, he has served as the Department Chair for Social Sciences and currently serves as webmaster for the Arts & Humanities Division. He has taught both General Psychology and Human Growth & Development at Delgado Community College. In addition, he has several years experience teaching Psychology courses at two-year colleges in Mississippi, Alabama, and South Carolina, where he taught General Psychology, Human Growth & Development, Psychology of Adjustment, Industrial Psychology, and Human Relations. Mr. Majors received an Associate of Science degree in Pre-professional Science from Bevill State Community College, a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Auburn University, and a Master of Science degree in Psychology from Mississippi State University. He has authored several Study Guides for General Psychology textbooks, one of which is integrated into the General Psychology textbook currently being used at Delgado Community College while another is currently the Study Guide that accompanies one of the most widely used international Introductory Psychology textbooks. Mr. Majors is a member of the Association for Psychological Science (APS -- formerly the American Psychological Society), the Society for the Teaching of Psychology (American Psychological Association Division 2), and Psi Chi (the National Honor Society in Psychology).
