In the first part of the excerpt, Ahab’s character is shown mainly through the narrator’s observations and Ahab’s physical actions. In the second part, Ahab’s character is demonstrated mostly through dialogue. Review the two parts. Then write a monologue for Ahab expressing his plans and emotions that he may have said to himself in the privacy of his cabin.
