somewhere i have never travelled, gladly beyond and anyone lived in a pretty how town

Examine the stylistic elements that E. E. Cummings uses in these two poems. Create a list for each poem and write down examples of the following elements of style: word choice; sentence structure; imagery; tone; and figures of speech, such as similes, metaphors, or personification. Write your own poem in Cummings’s style and use your lists as a springboard for ideas. Your poem should describe how an ordinary or “average” person lives. Feel free to experiment, as Cummings does, with capitalization, word order, and spelling.
