My Father and the Figtree

This poem tells the story of recurrent conversations between a father and a daughter about the father’s lifelong passion for fresh figs. The figs and fig tree symbolize more than food to the father. A symbol is any object, person, place, or idea that represents something more than its literal meaning. Write a poem of your own in which you present an ongoing conversation between two people that you know. They could be family or friends, and you may use fictitious names if you prefer. Your poem should have a positive attitude and convey meaning through the use of a symbol.
