A researcher wants to determine if the grade on an essay differs depending on whether it is typed or handwritten and whether it is presented on white or blue paper. The researcher recruits graduate students and randomly assigns them to grade the exact same essay in one of the four conditions. The grading scale is 0 - 100 points, with 100 points indicating a perfect essay. The results reveal no significant main effects. However, a significant interaction is demonstrated.
