  1. You should be familiar with the qualities of directing in each of the phases of the director's historical development to contemporary times.
  2. You need to know the functions of a producer and the nature of a director's leadership.
  3. You should be familiar with the responsibilities attending each of the duties of the director's preparation of a production.
  4. You should know what a director does during each stage of implementing a production and what each contributes to the finished presentation.
  5. You need to be familiar with the means through which people enter the craft of directing.
