Chapter Overview

This chapter describes the GED essay and how it is scored. You will also learn a four-step writing process and essay structure that will help you write a good essay.

The writing process:

  • gathering ideas
  • organizing ideas
  • writing
  • revising

The five-paragraph essay:

  • introductory paragraph
  • three body paragraphs
  • concluding paragraph
