Chapter Overview

Chemistry is the study of the smallest building blocks of nature—the atoms, molecules, and chemicals that form all nonliving and living things. Chemists study the phases and behavior of matter. Their goals are to better understand our world and to help produce consumer products that make life better for people everywhere.
