DRUMMING UP BUSINESS
Building team spirit is a business in itself. Unlike some of the very serious team-building exercises of the past, the latest approach is much more fun. It is called "working in rhythm."

Paul Houle is a percussionist who has travelled the world studying musical instruments intended to provide rhythm. He has also taught at the Royal Conservatory of Music for 14 years. He bought hundreds of items that could produce sound, and has sold Bell Canada, Sprint, TD Visa, HP, and many other clients on using these items to have employees form an orchestra.

The experience is an intense session of team building that doesn't stop until the entire group is in sync. The message-that everyone's contribution adds to the results-is clear. Employees have reacted very favourably, finding the experience of working in unison "awesome."
