Computer Protection

Your computer is like any valuable asset, you have to protect it from harm, deliberate and otherwise. A firewall can help protect your computer from intruders. A firewall is software and/or hardware that protects computers from intruders. As hardware, a firewall is often a router, and is usually used for a network. If you have just one computer, a software package that detects anyone trying to access your computer will give your protection.

You can protect your computer from power surges and outages by using an uninterruptible power supply (UPS).

Having anti-virus software on you computer alerts you if you're about to let a virus into your system. The software will usually give you options on quarantining or cleaning the virus or deleting the whole file.
