  2. Go to the ASEC's profiler site http://asec.org/profiler.htm. Which of the savings personality types seems to describe your savings personality? Why?

  3. Return to the ASEC's home page and click on Savings Tools. Describe three things you can do to increase the chances of meeting your retirement goals.

  4. Discuss two different methodologies used to measure personal savings in the United States.

  5. Personal savings are obviously very important for individual retirement. Why are personal savings important for the United States?

2. Examining Stock Quotes Online

Instructions

Follow the link to the PCQuote Web site. Examine the latest stock quote and chart for Nike and one other company of your choice. It might be helpful to print the stock quote and chart.

Using the stock information, answer the following questions:

  1. What is the latest stock price for Nike? How does this compare to the price at the end of the previous trading day? How does the current price compare to the price quoted in the textbook? What was the latest annual cash dividend paid by Nike? How many shares were traded on the last of trading?

  2. What is the name of the other company you chose to examine? What is its ticker tape symbol? How has this stock performed relative to the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) in the last year? Does the stock price appear more or less volatile than the DJIA?
