Describe the core "you"--your core personality which you believe has been the same over the years. Which parts of your personality have endured? Which have changed? Using what you have learned from reading Chapter 5, speculate on the reasons behind the stability of and the changes to your personality: how and why has your personality developed?

Provide a current self-description and compare it to your ideal self-description--the result is what psychologist define as self-esteem. Do you find a low or high level of discrepancy between your current and ideal self? Now, compare your present level of self-esteem with your perceived level of self-esteem from early adolescence; can you find any changes between then and now? Why or why not? Compare your findings to those discussed in Chapter 5--do you find them to be similar or different?
