TEAM BUILDING OD INTERVENTION PLAN (IE 14–1) AND ONLINE INTERNET EXERCISE 14–1

The objective of this exercise is to develop some change-agent skills by interviewing a team member and setting goals and an agenda as preparation for team building OD intervention. Do the following:

  1. Go to Glenn Parker's website homepage—www.glennparker.com


  2. Click "Freebees" then "Team Building Interview Guide" and quickly read the introductory information.


  3. Print or write down the 11 Team Building Interview Guide Questions.


  4. Interview a team member recording the responses to the 11 questions (your instructor may require a written copy). Note that as an actual team building change agent you would interview all team members, not just one (your instructor may require you interview all members). Based on the interview, complete question 5.


  5. (1) Write at least one goal for your team building session with this team. (2) Write your agenda plans for the team building session. What will happen during the team building session? (Your instructor may require a typed copy).

TEAM BUILDING LESSONS (IE 14–2) AND ONLINE INTERNET EXERCISE 14–2

The objective of this exercise is to read lessons learned about work teams. Do the following:

  1. Go to the University of North Texas Center for the Study of Work Teams website—http://www.workteams.unt.edu


  2. Click "Literature" then "Abstracts and Lessons Learned."


  3. Click one of the categories then select and read one of the abstracts and lessons learned (your instructor may require a copy).


  4. Questions: (1) Which abstract did you select? (2) As relates to your work experience, what is the most important lesson? (3) How can you use the information in this lesson to improve a work team you belong to or will belong to in the future?
