This organization dates back nearly 100 years. The company logo 3M is vastly known and so are its products such as the Scotch brand. According to the executive summary "3M is committed to continued improvement in its environmental, safety, and health performance."

Examine this site. How do you see this organization’s view of its responsibility to the environment? Identify three specific accomplishments/goals this company has set that will benefit the environment. How do these affect the public opinion? Identify how 3M utilize long-term thinking when it is in the process of development of new products. Do you believe, 3M as an organization, is managing its corporate impression effectively? What other aspects/strategies would you recommend for effective corporate impression management for 3M? Explain.

Exxon is a leader in the petroleum industry. It has branches that can be found in several foreign countries. According to this company’s motto, "Exxon is the best way to get there."

Reflect on the Valdez oil situation. In your opinion, could the Exxon Corporation have responded differently in that situation? Did Exxon’s corporate impression suffer as a result of their decisions in this matter? Support your reasonings. How does Exxon address the issue of legal compliance? What do you believe Exxon could have done differently in the Valdez situation? Explain. Identify the costs and benefits of such alternatives. Prepare a short report to discuss with the class.
